Next Door Counselling and Consultation embodies the essence of informal, supportive conversations reminiscent of visiting a friend’s home. In today’s increasingly disconnected world, I aim to bring this approachable and comforting style of talk therapy into a professional setting.

Having grown up in Country Victoria, where casual, frequent visits were a norm, I recognized a need for a therapy approach that aligns with this tradition. After extensive experience in the public healthcare system, I observed a gap in conventional therapy settings. Many clients felt disconnected from traditional therapy models and faced barriers to accessing the support they needed.

Next Door Counselling and Consultation was established to provide a unique, client-centered space where mental wellbeing is enhanced through a relaxed and empathetic approach. This environment fosters acceptance, facilitates information sharing, and supports deeper cognitive understanding, tailored to meet you precisely where you are.

With over a decade of experience in the healthcare and aged care sectors, I have developed a profound respect for older adults and honed a skill set uniquely suited to this demographic. My objective is to ensure that therapy is accessible and comprehensible, seamlessly integrating into your life.

I practice from a Strengths-Based perspective within a Trauma-Informed framework, utilizing various therapeutic modalities to offer a personalized counselling experience. My personal experiences with challenges such as divorce, caregiving for aging parents and job loss have equipped me to provide empathetic and insightful support.

I look forward to meeting you, hearing your story and exploring the aspects of life that may feel confusing. Let’s connect over a virtual cup of tea and work together towards clarity and understanding.

Warm regards,
Hannah
